Thomas Duck Introduced as Vice President/General Manager at Tri-Lift NC, Inc.

Tom Duck has joined Tri-Lift NC Inc. as the Vice President/General Manager. The move was part of Tri-Lift NC, Inc.’s long term growth plan to expand operations and establish the next generation of company leadership. Tom comes to the company with extensive sales, sales management and general management experience in the material handling industry. He has also served his country in the armed forces.

Tom was one of eight children, born in Muskegon, Michigan and raised on a farm in Middle Tennessee. After high school, where he played many sports, including his favorite, football, he attended and graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in accounting. Following college, he spent the next eight years serving his country in the Army where he was part of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, 122 LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol). During this time he was deployed for three active combat tours. After serving in the Army he served in the National Guard for two years and exited at the rank of Major.

Tom started his civilian career in the tractor trailer manufacturing and leasing industry for Xtra Lease and Fruehauf Trailer Corporation. He held positions such as Operations Manager, Regional Manager and Assistant Director of Operations. He also worked for Mack Trucks as a Regional Sales Manager. Tom transitioned to the material handling industry and joined VBS Equipment in Virginia. As the VP of Sales and Marketing, Tom turned VBS into the dominant player in the market. In 2015 as part of the Hyster Yale Group strategic marketing plan, Tom helped negotiate the terms of the sale of VBS to Gregory Poole Equipment in Raleigh North Carolina. Tom was then selected as the Director of Operations for Gregory Poole and restructured their operations, implemented new procedures and processes that achieved their five year goals, in three years.

Tom looks forward to putting all of that experience to work for the employees and customers of Tri-Lift NC, Inc. As the company grows it is important to have experienced, seasoned management to help guide the company, maintaining efficiency and providing a culture of excellence that Tri-Lift NC, Inc. customers have come to expect.
